Subject: [HOLDER] James Holder b. 1790 Bedford Co. TN to Butler Co. MO
James Holder was a Musician in Captain Andrew Patterson's regiment of Tennessee Militia in the War with Great Britain. (Though this may have been the Creek Indian War. Many of the men from Tennessee fought against the Creeks, and the files are mixed in and labeled as the War of 1812 at National Archives.) He was drafted at Bedford County, TN on 15 Nov. 1814 and was discharged 1 April 1815. He lived in Butler Co., MO and was sixty years old when he filed his application for bounty land on 9 January 1851. This application is filed at National Archives under the name James Holden, but the names as written inside the file are Holder.
