Yikes--looks like a local cottage industry has sprung up around Columbia that for some reason is promoting David Guitar as having been a Confederate. Strange. A group of paranormal ghost hunters has even jumped on the band wagon. I would think that Guitar's ghost would have told them by now to cut it the flip out, and to quit putting up fake markers over his grave.

Anyway, here's the 1912 newspaper report of David Guitar's death. And look there what it says in big bold letters in the headline....
