Near Cross Keys, in this county, March 17th, Col. C. H. Tyler, in his 57th year. He was very intelligent, and a through gentleman in all his bearings. He was a high minded and honorable man. He was a Captain in the United States service under A. S. Johnson before the war. He threw up his commission and joined the Southern army. He was for two years an inspector of cavalry under J. Stewart, and afterwards joined Price in the West. Since the war he has lived near Cross Keys, where the writer found him more than 12 years ago.
Would like to know more about his Confederate military record.
Thanks.
