Well John, when I found there was a list of prisoners at St Joseph military prison for the month of Sep 1864 in document 11837 on NARA microfilm 416 PM Papers Relating to Two or More Civilians, I figured for sure I would see 2 Smarr's, but I don't. And I am unable to find anything for Nelson that you mention in the Misc Civilian Papers. Were you meaning the Misc Confederate Records that shows his Sep 10, 1864 capture and being in St Joe prison during the month of Sept 1864? I can't thank you enough for your guidance.
