Gents, How about the numbers of CSA troops that surrendered at Vicksburg and how many that arrived at Demopolis, Ala to be exchanged........I'm searching for John T. Tipton, Co. H 5th Mo Inf........last paper trail is at Baker's Creek.........then he's in Culpepper Co., Va in 1870...........that is a stretch but documented by his grandson........we are trying to fill holes for a manuscript
John T. at the time only had one arm ( amp 1862) but was still in the fight but was sick from time to time with fevers........shot in the dark.......in 1870 he had two young sons with him that he had left in Missouri when he went to war in 1861........you will enjoy the book..............Neil
