Re: Need information on old town in Moniteau Co.,

Carl,

I did not find such a name in Moniteau County (not saying it was or wasn't there), but in Cooper County adjacent to the west of Moniteau County there was a Conners Mill located eight miles east of the Cooper County seat of Boonville. This was mentioned in the 1876 Cooper County history on page 136 and in "Campbell's Gazetteer of Missouri." of 1874 on page 174. Evidently, it was located on Little Saline Creek or Petite Saline Creek. I found this listing in Moser's Missouri place name online file at http://thelibrary.org/lochist/moser/cooperpl.html. Neither Moser's nor the similar Ramsay's Missouri populated places name file listed such a name in Moniteau County. As I indicated above, this is not to imply such a place did or did not exist in Moniteau County, as my experience has shown neither of these geographic place names files includes everything. Google failed to come up with anything, either.
