The Missouri in the Civil War Message Board

Re: 3rd light artillery or Jackson Artillery St Lo

The battery was consolidated with the 3rd Missouri Battery (St. Louis Battery) on October 2, 1863 at Demopolis, AL, and was assigned to General John C. Moore's Infantry Brigade.

Although present at the battle of Missionary Ridge, TN, it had not been rearmed and did not participate in the battle.

The consolidated battery eventually moved ot Mobile, Al, and was rearmed in late February, 1864. It remained in AL, and fought at Spanish Fort. It stayed at Mobile until that place was evacuated and then moved to Meridian, MS, where it was surrendered.
