Should anyone choose this book and have info on the Sweeney family who rode with the guerrilla, John Highley, I would love to hear feedback. I know the Sweeneys have appeared on this Message Board before but perhaps my research and dead ends can be cause for re-examination. In another direction, last week I spoke with a descendant of Louisa Shumake who was married to James McClane. He was killed by Sam Hildebrand in 1869 and data on him appears as a footnote in the book, as McClane came within the sights of both Highley, the Sweeneys and Hildebrand during the War.
