Could this be the Benjamin F Parker of Cooper Co? He had 2 brothers David and Wayne that would be the right age to participate with him in the CW. Father would be Thomas, Mom Sophronia, both of TN.

A couple of issues lead me here, right age right neighborhood particularly the Gooches Mill connection. Also there is a W S Parker who was part of Routt's Regiment in 1861 that was at Lexington and took the arsenal at Liberty I think. If I remember right he is mentioned in the Wilke letters.
