I have g-g-g-grandafther, William Croucher, who served in the civil war with the 67th (Indiana) infantry regiment.
On his muster certificate, it states the following: “Death of William Croucher, Co B, 67th regiment, occurred in St. Louis hospital, March 15 1863. Cause: Variola”
I am trying to determine where in St Louis this may have occurred and if there is any other historical documentation on this time period and civil war patients.
