In SW Bollinger County, along the Old Military Road is a grave of a Union soldier. The marker says:

"W. Wood
Union Soldier
Died for his Country"

I know I have heard of this before but can't remember where and it may have been on this site, but I can't find it.

Does anyone have more information about Mr. Wood, his unit, and/or his demise?

(NB: this is not the same grave as the one SW of Greenville in Wayne County, also along the Old Military Road.)
