Hello Bruce,
I am working on the memoirs of a Confederate soldier from Morgan County Missouri who writes of William "Bill" Chapman. This Chapman as a recruiting officer for Gen. Price that also served as something of a postman for the soldiers, delivering mail, money and messages from home, even when they were in Arkansas and Mississippi. He describes Chapman as middle-aged but the author of the memoirs was 17 at that time. I would be interested in anything you have learned and would be willing to share any more that I discover.
