Henry Clay Thruston, his bro Lafayette, and several nephews, were Confederates. Several battles in Arkansas.Henry's sister Mary Sarah A. Thruston married Samuel Russell Shepard, lived Titus TX. Sam was on 1860 census, Franklin, White Oak, AR. He was Co A, Ark 7th Militia. I think Sam must have met the Thruston men in AR.Came back to MO and m. the sister. My clue is Titus TX. Henry Clay Thruston had the title as the tallest Confederate in CW, he settled in Pleasent Hill, Titus, TX abt 1871. Shepards were there 1870.Any Info.
