Thanks for looking that up for me. I remember seeing a lieutenant in the Missouri State Guard in the Jefferson City area for 1861 in the "Price's :ieutenants" book, but long ago I figured a lieutenant was too far away in rank from a general to be considered. I had forgotten his initials were "L. P." Other sources say the recruiter Crabtree who was so success and colorful in Cole and Miller Counties had a first initial of "L," so this makes me look at L. P. Crabtree with more interest.
I wish I knew more about LT L. P. Crabtree and especially why he resigned in November 1861.
