Re: Goslin's Lane - Boone County, Mo

Joe Martinek was my gg uncle as well (He was married to my great-grandmother's sister, Anna Darda.) I engaged a grave dowser to help locate the graves probably 8 to 10 years ago using the recollections of Goslin Lane neighbors as a starting point. The neighbors said the graves were on the west side of the main road on property that was also owned in 1864 by Mr. Goslin. The dowsers identified 6 to 8 places (all in a row about two feet apart) as the graves. I drove a pine stake at the head and foot of each grave, hoping later to engage an archeologist in certifying the site. However, a dispute arose with the landowner, and I backed out of further exploration. I have not been back there since.
