I agree with Red. Once while I was away from my Missouri home in another state I received a parking ticket to which the police officer wrote for the state "MS." I realized that since "MS" is the common abbreviation for "Mississippi" that I could probably skate on the parking ticket while the Minneapolis Police Dept. searches in vain for me in Mississippi. I chose the honor route and sent in the money for the parking ticket, anyway, and because I didn't want trouble that my employer would possibly see.
Same story for you. "Miss" is a common abbreviation for "Mississippi" not "Missouri." Happens all the time. We all do it. You're barking up the wrong state tree. Try Mississippi.
