Details of Sept. 1862 action near Hartville?

In the thread about the two Col. Fraziers, I noted that Julian Frazier of Wright County appeared to be the father of Capt. Joseph K. Polk Frazier who is noted as killed Sept. 1862 in action vs. the 10th IL Cav. per "Sterling Price's Lts." p. 293. He was adj. of Julian Frazier's MSG cav until both mustered out on March 16, 1862. The relationship of son I glean from the 1860 Census http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mowright/1860-1.html (given as "Jas K.P." I think, but the file is a mess.)

It seems reasonable that some sort of account survives explaining what happened to this Frazier and his father, since the brother survived and returned after the war as county attorney. There is also older brother "John M." who is Co. Clerk in Nov. 1860. (Julian is "Land Agent" at the same time.) John M. had been 3rd Lt. of Company A and resigned Jan. of 1862. He appears to have been an attorney in 1857 and listed as 22 yr old lawyer in 1860 census.

Is there any particular event/date that Capt. Frazier's death can be pinned to? I don't see it in Bruce's book, at least not if the death was in Sept. of 1862. There are some other local actions. The note in "Sterling Price's Lts." about the death refers to a 1997 letter from Robert Caudle. Caudle had compiled data for Union and Confederate veterans of Wright Co.

One event that I see in the Wright Co. binder booklet of "The Battle of Hartville and Related Events" is a section on page 2 about a Fall 1862 raid by 300 Confederates on 73rd EMM Col. Ratliff Palmer's home. Two sons and a son-in-law were captured and eventually released. Doesn't say anything about this being a fight though. It mentions that Palmer's wartime correspondence with his officers has "been preserved by descendants."
