Missouri State Guard Company?

The following was sent to me by a friend recently. It was found in the Samuel N. Wood Papers.

The undersigned agree to form a company of Mounted Rifle men for the purpose of Ranging the County north, east & west, and as far as practicable to afford protection to inhabitants of Oregon and adjoining counties. We further solicit to organization of other companies and agree to go into an organization of battalions & a regiment with such case as we may adopt. Sept. 18, 1861

J. R. Woodside, C. White, W. W. Wallis, T. C. Depriest, A. M. Depriest, J. W. Griffith, M. Griffith, F. M. Campbell, B. A. Huddleston, A. Maulding, G. N. Tankersley, K. P. Wright, Wm. Perkins, W. S. Baty, H. House, C. Clark, Abner Lewis, W. S. Huddleston, Robert Moore, J. G. Huddleston, J. E. Roberts, R. C. Joliffe, J. B. Old, Thos. J. Lee, Jas. Martin, M. V. Glasscock, G. W. Thomas, C. B. Dunklin, W. C. McElroy, E. C. Howel, W. D. Baty, A. T. Muse, J. E. Parrott, Corbe Dunkin

Whether this company ever actually existed is unknown. Rather than the Guard, it may have been simply a home guard outfit.
