Re: Major George C Marshall/Union 2nd mo ca exec

Greetings,
My ancestor Jonathan Talbot Tipton was arrested in December 26, 1861 for burning the road. He was born and raised in Lancaster,Mo.
He was seven miles from Jacksonville were he lived with his wife and children when he was arrested the first time. He made his living as a blacksmith. He was sent to Palmyra
for a military tribunal which never occurred. He was sent to Alton,Ill. The rest of the story is remarkable.
When he was arrested he was riding with two others if memory serves one was a Capt trying to recruit NE MO for Porter.
Is it possible for a phone conversation.
Roy
