PD,

Try the search engine at the top of the page again, but just enter "Alsup" by itself, and then run another search for "Hatfield." I was able to get to 2007, 2008, and 2009 inquiries and replies that way, and you can, too.

You can obtain the Alsup side of the feud by reading the 2003 University of Arkansas Press edition of Captain William Monks' "A History of Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas: Being an Account of the Early Settlements, the Civil War, the Ku-Klux, and Times of Peace" old 1907 book. I think this 2003 print is still for sale or you could examine it via your local library using Interlibrary Loan for a small fee to offset the library mailing a copy back and forth. Monks' version is not friendly to the southern point of view, since he saw the southerners over the barrel of a gun during the war. Every copy of the original 1907 version I have seen was in tatters, so the newer one is in much better shape.

Once you read all these, please come back and other researchers might be able to help you further.

Good Hunting,
Bruce Nichols
