Hi guys,

I was wondering if someone could help me. Every year my girlfriend and I spend a few days at Eminence, Missouri floating down the Jacks Fork river. As a history buff with an interest in both the Civil War and guerillas I have become interested in the details sorrounding old Eminence (located near Round Spring, I believe) being burned by Union troops. This year I met with Genevieve Kile and her husband and purchased her reprint of J. J. Chiltons articles on the war in Carter and Shannon counties but found no mention of the burning of Eminence. I also bought all four volumes of Bruce Nichols fascinating work and still found no mention. Does anyone have any details on this and other activities in the area of Eminence or know where I might look? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
