Great info. Another site to visit. Is there a reason the camp was placed there? Training? Secure place for Unionists? A picture is beginning to emerge as to the locations of these fortifications along important roads and not just important towns. To me, its not just knowing the road is important but why THAT road or town was important. It just reinforces the notion the Ozarks was a dangerous place during the war. Its not enough to post a few men in a place. You need a fortification or trench works. Thanks for posting!
