I wonder why a Union interrogator would ask a young Confederate private (19) from Mississippi, in CSA uniform, if he had ever been in the EMM. Was the EMM the same group that would force Southern sympathizers and paroled Confederate soldiers to join the "Union militia" or go to a prison camp?
