John, on your 8/4/2012 12:51AM post to this string you said "Check the misc citizens files at fold3 and you'll find Nelson Smarr's PM listing at St. Joe. His age info fits....." But when I look at fold3 under Civil War Service Records/Confederate/Miscellaneous, all I see is the card for Nelson that says "Nelson Smarr, Rebel Soldier appears on list of prisoners received & confined at ...St. Joe.. during the month of Sept 1864. When captured - Sept 10, 1864. Roll 4, Sheet 2.

It doesn't give an age. Do you think I'm looking in the wrong place?? I'm looking at https://www.fold3.com/image/271/257194769
