If you could tell me their names and which county they listed on their enlistment form, I might be able to help you track down more of their histories. Probably you're very aware of this, but slaves who enlisted often gave their slaveholder's name as their last name. Four men with the same slaveholder may or may not have been biologically related. One exception is a period of time when slaves who enlisted in Jefferson City were warned not to list their slaveholder as their last name or the slaveholder would be able to collect compensation. This really didn't stop the compensation practice, but it did make it more difficult for researchers. Thanks for your interest! There are lots of amazing stories of these men. Sadly, many died during service. Those who survived often led interesting lives. One of my favorite soldier's story is that of Caswell McClurg, a slave of the Radical Republican who became Governor, J. W. McClurg. http://southcentralmolhistory.blogspot.com/2015/03/caswell-mcclurg-camden-county-slave.html
