Re: Who were these confederate officers?

Williams' Regiment was added to Jackman's Brigade during Price's Missouri raid. Insofar as Jackman was a part of Shelby'ss Brigade, then so were Williams and his Lt Col Hodge

Col D. A. Williams, by untiring energy, & the exercise of rare courage & endurance, had recruited a splendid Regt during Gen Price's expedition into Missouri, & this was assigned to Jackman's Bgde, which raised its strength at once to a most satisfactory standard. Shelby had a peculiar penchant for boys, & at one time he had a great idea of incorporating all of them belonging to the division in one Co & placing boy officers over it. In this new Regt, many of them found proud positions.
Williams was a splendid officer, devoted, intelligent, Skilled, experienced, & courageous. Only the sad termination of the CS war prevented this large & magnificent Regt from winning unnumbered laurels. It had, however, received its baptism of fire & blood without which no Soldier considers himself entitled to honor
Field officers Hodge & Merrick
