Thanks. I knew that Purvis name seemed familiar.

In another direction, I read that many of Crabtree's recruits went into what later became Company F of the 10th Missouri Cavalry of the Confederate States of America. James E. McGhee's "Guide to Missouri Confederate Units, 1861-1865," on page 88 wrote that Company F of the 10th MO Cav was composed of southern men from Cass, Cole, and Jackson Counties. I looked up Company F members in the "Soldiers and Sailors Civil War Database," but nearly all of the Company F members were from Cass County on the border with Kansas. Oh, well, I'l keep at it.
