From background on the people in the area, I would guess some of the names are David Albertson, Robert Morrow, and P. H. Baysinger. I tried to find the file on Fold3 in the Union Citizens File under Crabtree, but failed. Help please? There is no statement of whether these men wrote the letters, or the letters were addressed to them? In some cases, it seems improbable that these men were gone from the area. That letter to/from Peter Wilkes would have been a keeper! He left Miller County to serve in the Confederate States Congress. W. P. Dixon was his brother-in-law. After his arrest in 1864, Dixon's wife wrote to President Lincoln and he ordered him released. I've forgotten the family connection between the Wilkes and the Dred Scott decision - judge or attorney.
