J. A. Yankee, Private, Act’g. Capt. J. H. Gillett’s Company of Independent Cavalry,* enlisted August 1, 1862 in Case County by Capt. Lysl for the war, detailed as Regimental Teamster May 12, 1863, surrendered by order of Gen. E. K. Smith May 16, 1865, paroled at Shreveport, La., June 8,1865

Note, he was recorded present at the Jan/Feb, 1864 muster which is the last roll for Company F found in the records

* This company subsequently became Company F, 16th Regiment Missouri Infantry,
