Daniel Lee Twyman enlisted Co I, 11th Missouri Inf (also known as 2nd and 8th and Hunter's Regt) Aug 1, 1862 Van Buren MO. Confederate records list him as mortally wounded and lost at Helena Arkansas on muster roll July 28 1863. However Union records have him captured in hospital steamer and General Hospital Overton in Memphis, Captured Helena, AR July 4, 1863. He eventually is sent to Alton Prison Hospital Dec 1863, released from prison April 1864. He filed for admission to the Confederate Home, Higginsville, MO June 1916.
