I found an authorization for him to raise an artillery company in the Confederate Citizen's file but no service record as yet.
The history of Lafayette County lists him as a 1st Lt in Shelby's brigade and notes his name as Jacob D Connor Jr. There is a MO SOS card for him as a Lt. Collins Battery at battle of Westport. There is an additional card for him attending a reunion where he is listed as a private on Major Marmaduke's staff. None of these appear as primary roster or muster cards.

Paul Jenkins Battle of Westport (Franklin Pub 1906) lists him as Lt Collins Battery 2 guns under Shelby's brigade, no further reference found.
