9th Missouri Sharpshooter Bn.
Maj. Lebbeus A. Pindall
The battalion was organized in the winter of 1862-1863 with two
companies and later increased to five companies. The men were recruited
from existing Missouri units. It was assigned to Parson's, S. P. Burns'
brigade, Trans-Mississippi Department. It lost nine killed, 26 wounded
and eight missing at Helena and after the fight mustered 190 men. It
lost 10 wounded at Pleasant Hill and four wounded at Jenkins' Ferry. It
disbanded in the spring of 1865.
