DEATH OF ROBERT ATKINSON Robert Atkinson who for thirty years or more has been a citizen of Berryville, died at his home in the orchard Wednesday evening at 7:30 p. m. after an illness of ten days. Mr. Atkinson was born near Covington, Kentucky, February 14, 1838. When a child he moved with his parents to Sedalia, Missouri. In early manhood he married Miss Sarah Donaldson, of Scottland county, Missouri. She preceded him to the Better Land fifteen years ago. Five years later he married Miss Minnie Wilton who died about a year ago. No children were born to either union. When about sixteen years of age Mr. Atkinson united with the South Methodist church and was a faithful member of this church to the time of his death. When the civil war broke out he enlisted with the Confederacy and served until the close of the war. During his long residence in Berryville, Mr. Atkinson has made many firends who are sorry to know of his passing, but who realize that he had rounded a long and useful life and was ready for the call when it came. He leaves one brother and many neices and nephews and friends to mourn his death. Rev. J. L. Keener conducted the funeral service at the Christian church under the auspices of the Masonic lodge,, after which he was laid to rest in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.

1880 census proves Robert and James are brothers.
