Put this twist in the mix. J C Wyatt in his will leaves $500.00 dollars to Henry DeBell, and quoting "I will, devise and bequeath the sum of 500 hundred ($500.00) dollars to Henry DeBell, an old colored man of St. Joseph MO, whom I have known from my youth, said sum to be paid out of the assets of my estate." JC Wyatt death cert list cause of death as dilation of heart, otherwise known today as congestive heart failure. His occupation listed as dry goods merchant. He does have a muster card for the MO 1st Cav captured Ft Donelson Feb 16, 1862

Henry DeBell b 1841 d 1928 buried Mount Mora Cemetery. He is mentioned in the National Register of Historic place application as one of 5 known black Union veterans buried in cemetery.
He was a well known GAR member in the Kansas GAR listed as serving in the Kansas USCT.

Cavan Garrad Wyatt, J C Wyatt's son was killed while hoisting a 2400 lb baking oven into the Kennedy Grocery Company. He was in front of the 12 high oven when the hoisting rope began to slip and tried to steady the oven when the hoisting rope slipped again with the oven subsequently falling and crushing his pelvis. April 10, 1931.
