S. T. ROWLAND DEAD. S. T. Rowland died at uis home in this city Wednesday evening of stomach trouble. Samuel Thomas Rowland was bora January 29, 144 in Boone county. His father was Samuel Nelson Rowland and liis mother was, before her marriage, Moi-ln-a Schooling. Mr. Rowland was tlie last of eight brothers and sisters. He was married March 19, 1874 to Miss Lucy Hall and to this union were horn seven children, viz! Prof. Brent Rowland, Mrs. Blanche Tranghher, Barney Rowland, Nina Rowland, Jerd Rowland, who died July 39, 19 s, Harry Rowland and Frances Rowland. Mr. Rowland joined the Methodist liurch at this plaeduring tlie ministry of Rev. Alfred Smith, and lias remained a consecrated Christian since. He leaves a wife and the children above mimed to mnflrn liis loss together with a host of friends. The funeral services will lie conducted at the Methodist church Friday, June 9 by Rev. Shadwick. The Guard extends to the widow and children our sincere sympathy in their great loss.
