I will work on Maupin. Flood and Hockaday were both "Planters" . Both are verbose in the Union Provost files working hard to get folks treated a bit better. Both were recognized outside of Callaway County as "middle of the road guys". Both are tied up with the Henry Larrimore issue which went all the way to Abe L himself. 3rd Iowa burnt him out and confiscated all his live stock then arrested him. I think over the Overton Run affair. I will keep rooting around and see what gives. I was surprised at how many articles from the Fulton Telegraph were quoted in Branch's history. I think maybe the Callaway County Historical Society may have a rare treasure trove of newspaper articles that is unrecognized.
