Re: Krekel's battn Dibble Memo

Apparently Col. Philer Knapp Dibble, chaplain of the 9th MO MSM and a 1860 resident of Callaway Co, was so incensed about Kreckel and Windmuller's behavior he wrote to Gov Gamble complaining and specifying behavior and actions. Gamble subsequently ordered the dismissal of Kreckel and the disbanding of the 4 companies of Cav.

" the governor made a notation on the back of Dibble's memorandum detailing the conduct of Kreckel's Battalion in Callaway County:"At the proper time let this battalion be dismissed." Ibid.

It appears if I can find a copy of Dibble's memo perhaps we have more than a smoking gun.
