Just been looking at John McCorkle's "Three Years With Quantrell," first published in 1914. He doesn't address the killings and scalpings of Bill Anderson's men under James Bissett at the Widow Turner Farm Fight on Sept. 23, 1864, but he does touch upon the big general rendezvous of all the major guerrillas that same night, and appears to also put that rendezvous at the Cherry Grove School site (right next door to the Widow Turner's Farm).
In his book McCorkle places the guerrilla rendezvous at the John R. White farm between Franklin and Rocheport. In looking at those 19th century plat maps we consulted earlier on, an O.R. White has fairly substantial acreage immediate adjacent to the south of the Cherry Grove School/immediately adjacent to the east of the Widow Turner Farm. I would guess that John R. White and O.R. White were related.
