The Missouri in the Civil War Message Board

Re: What's happened to Civil / Border war history?

I know this board used to be absolutely booming. There were constant posts and / or responses. I used it frequently for research I was doing as I would ask questions in hopes someone would be able to answer my questions or point me in the direction of how to get my answers. Thus isn't the only Civil / Border site that's wilting. There are websites that aren't updated anymore while others have disappeared. Now here's the Arlington Nat'l Cemetery under fire for the Confederate statue that's being threatened. Statues pulled down, history being buried and white washed. It seems there's no tooth and nail fight left. I had an educational border wars site online that I built and did all the research for, but I quit and took it down because no one cared anymore. The views just kept dropping and dropping to almost nothing. I think it's pathetic the way this has happened. I have been in Civil / border war history for twenty years and the one thing I noticed, glaringly, is that there's a hell of a lot of finger pointing and belly aching, but now much fight behind it. Thanks to the political avalanche dismissing and condemning the Confederates and Civil War, this is where we stand now.

It sickens me.
