A pretty sharp engagement over 3 days of running battle. 6th MSM involved against Thomas Freeman. Sylamore Creek area is in North Central Arkansas at present day Allison near Mountain View and Batesville. The village of Sylamore was burned during the skirmish.

It appears the antebellum home that served as the Union Headquarters still exists.
