Hot On the Trail of Jim Reed

Still chasing all the threads. So in his own book on Bill Anderson, Larry Wood, in Chapter 3, surmises that Bill and Jim Anderson's sisters were staying with Solomon Reed in Wyandotte County. Whom, from the looks of it, would be a cousin of my Jim Reed, husband of Belle Starr. Here's why....

Wyandotte County Solomon Reed was the son of a Mathias Reed, whose brothers were a Solomon Reed and a Samuel Reed. And their father was Jasper Reed, grandfather of Wyandotte County Solomon, who perhaps harbored the Anderson girls.

Quantrill Raider Jim Reed was brother of a Jasper Reed and a Solomon Reed, and the son of a Solomon Reed, whose father was a Samuel Reed. Quantrill Jim Reed's daddy Solomon died May 22,1863, a week or so after the Council Grove raid. He's buried in Rich Hill, Bates County...the Missouri border burnt district.

Don't know quite how this Reed stew mixes together, but the unusual ingredients for it are all the same.
