I thought so, Bruce. Just checking; hope springs eternal. The Highlander Wood disemboweled with a Bowie knife, Lachlan Allan Maclean, was quite a character--a prominent proslavery mischief-maker in Kansas, and well over six feet. Something tells me alcohol was at the bottom of this; it certainly wasn't politics. Though they may or may not contain anything interesting, I've ordered copies of letters from an officer who served under Wood, Harry Pflager, from the MO Historical Society. I'm sure you've seen these; I wanted to get a first-hand taste.
