The only Civil War record I can find for Darius Gregg (b. abt 1831 KY) was his enlistment in the 77th EMM in Westport, Jackson Co., MO in Nov. 1862. He was relieved from duty after 12 days service. He may have served with Col. Upton Hays in the Jackson Co. MSG and is probably mentioned in an 1862 letter from Hays to his wife, "De wants to se Mary" - his wife was Mary Harper. He is mentioned again in Letter 89, Dec 1875 (not online yet)from Judge James B. Yager to Margaret Watts Hays, "D & Mary Gregg have both been here since your letter came and told us to return much love to you for them. They have charge of the County farm now, the second year and are doing real well, children all well."
Any information will be helpful.
