Mart Rider
In Response To: Mart Rider.. ()

Casey, Harrison Trow mentioned riding with a George Rider. There was a George Rider listed on a captured roster of Quantrill's men on July 6, 1862. There was a Confederate George M. Rider of Saline County who was captured near Warrensburg who converted to be a Yankee, according to the History of Saline Co., and the Missouri Secretary of State website. And then Saline County Missouri court records list a Mrs. Rider who was beat as "bloody as a hog" by a George Mart Rider, who murdered a man, Peter Rousey, who tried to defend her. Said George Mart Rider also made the murdered man's wife also "fear for her life." George Mart Crider was hanged in Saline County for his actions on Friday the 13th, 1888.
