Joshua F. Parks Part 2

1910 Census living with the Wiles in Dwelling 98 widowed.

1870 Census Ozark, Polk Twshp, Christian County Dwelling 114
Hard to read but looks like with Wife Alsadia age 24, Sons Larry 14, Alva (sp?) 3, Henry 2/12, and daughter Sara 6

Unprovenced info indicates Joshua F. Parks was born Mar 3, 1833 and died January 8 1923. Father Robert Wesley Parks Born July 20, 1805 in South Carolina, died Aug 2, 1870 Marionville, MO. Mother was Almira Fonville, Born Aug 17, 1809 in Tennessee, died March 18,1881 in Marionville MO.

Siblings of Joshua include: Almira C., May, John S.,Robert W., Idella or Adaline, Thomas C., Jasper D., William F.

Robert W. Parks served with big brother Joshua F. in the 72nd EMM, as Sargent Co B. He is listed as "died at home Oct 18, 1862". I have no clue as to what the cause of death was whether it was service related or just an illness. His enlisment card is essentially the same as Joshua's as to date and places.

72nd EMM
Duty in 4th Military District, Southwest Missouri. Operations against Marmaduke December 31, 1862, to January 25, 1863. Marmaduke's attack on Springfield January 8,1863.
Source of Data: "A Compendium of the War of the Rebellion, V.III" by Frederick H. Dyer, c1908, p.1339

May also have taken a scout into and around Marion Arkansas.

72nd Regiment Enrolled Missouri Militia was issued 167 short (24-inch barrel) Enfield rifles (.577 caliber), 54 holster pistols (type & caliber unspecified), and 29 Colt revolvers (.44 caliber) during the second quarter of 1863 (MoQMG63-lxxix).

Are we having fun yet, its probably more than you ever wanted to know. :>)
