Wickersham family

I am a descendant of Richard J. Wickersham, who served in the U.S. Confederate Army. He was a Lt. Colonal and he lived in Laclede County, Missouri in 1860 & 1870 (per U.S. Census records). I have not been able to find where he was imprisoned although I have heard that he was captured and imprisoned for 2 years. Where should I look? I already ordered his military file from the National Archives and it does not include this information.

The Wickersham family lived in Cotton Plant, Arkansas during the War and I recently learned that R.J.'s wife was banished from Lebanon, Laclede County, MO in 1863. Where can I learn more about that?

For those of you who are real Civil War buffs, R.J. wrote in the Goodspeed book that he was on the S.S. Kentucky when it sank outside of Shreveport, LA. He survived......but many did not.

Thanks for any and all help!
