I came to your website in a round about way. I was looking up jaywalker in a dictionary and came across jayhawker. I recognized references like the Missouri Act, but never heard anything about this sad episode in American history.
When I went to the University of Kansas site they just brush over it and say there were bad things on both sides, and continue on with their mascot image. Shocking!

Well at least you give both sides of the issue ...
