Re: St Louis Union Prison Hospital

Thank you.
Daniel William Boulware
born 1838 Gasconade Missouri
living in Ellis County Texas with his parents George W and Frances Boulware, siblings and wife Mary Ann Thompson Boulware. I believe he had a son 2 years old in the 1860 census and his wife was expecting another son (in 1861).
Daniel enlisted in Dallas Co TX in the 18th Cav. Co. F under Capt Calhoun. He was captured at the Battle of Fort Hindan, AR and died at the St. Louis Hospital Jefferson Barracks
Boulware, Daniel W, d. 01/27/1863, Confederate States Army, Plot: 21 0 4884, bur. 01/27/1863
I understand he was dismounted and actually fought as a foot soldier. He was wounded Jan 11 1863.

I was told he may have listed next of kin on some hospital form or possibly a Dr listed the nature and extent of his injuries and treatment as very little is known about Daniel.

Thank you again for any help you can provide.
Fran
