68th EMM and Wm. A. Jackson....hmmmmm...

Hi Walt -

Wow! Looks like some interesting interactions may well have taken place between the 68th EMM and my Byrd/Jackson ancestors there in SE Missouri.

I keep hoping that someone finds some primary source doc(s) re Clardy's MO Cavalry one of these days. Besides Clardy's being involved in Price's 1864 raid, I haven't been able to find out a whole lot about them.

Am guessing some "hard feelings" left over from the war, probably resulted in Wm. A. Jackson relocating back to Calloway Co. KY (he is buried in the Locust Grove Cemetery near Murray).

Thanks again for sharing!!! Hope to get over to Ironton again one of these days with my 11-year-old daughter.

Ken
