Re: Gratiot Street Prison deaths/burials

Hi Bruce:

If you remember the post about Major Bay and the Hamilton Brown Farm Massacre (also a Calloway Co event). Guess who shows up on the Pike Co Battalion list of the 49th EMM and the 67th EMM list? Yep Messrs Thomas Clark and William Keith. Clark enrolled in Louisianna in the 49th EMM as well as the 1st PEMM. Keith was a 1st Sargent in the 67th, enrolling at Wellsville as well as being in the Pike Co Home Guards/Battlion of the 49th EMM.

I can't prove it yet but I'm starting to collect a small list of indivduals from NE Montgomery County that appear to be Union nasties... or at least seem to keep coming up in conversations of events that were particularly illustrative of the ugliness of the war in those counties.
